GoFrogs: TCU’s Zahna Medley Signs with WNBA’s Stars

FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU’s Zahna Medley has signed a free-agent contract with the WNBA’s San Antonio Stars.

Medley is TCU’s all-time leading scorer with 1,975 points while also ranking first in school history with 316 3-pointers and second with 510 assists. The 316 treys rank fourth all-time in the Big 12.

A Springfield, Ill., native, Medley became the first three-time first-team all-conference selection in TCU women’s basketball history. She was a unanimous All-Big 12 pick as a senior in 2015-16.

Medley placed fifth in the Big 12 in scoring this season with a 16.3 points per game average. She led the conference with an 88.4 free-throw percentage while placing second in 3-pointers per game (2.6), third in 3-point field-goal percentage (41.8) and seventh in assists per game (3.9).

A member of TCU’s Neeley School of Business, Medley is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree who will receive her degree next month.

Medley is the Horned Frogs’ third WNBA player, joining former TCU All-Americans Sandora Irvin and Adrianne Ross. Irvin was the third overall pick in the 2005 WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury and played with four teams, including San Antonio, over six seasons (2005-11). Ross appeared in four games for San Antonio in 2008.
