DMN: TCU’s Jamie Dixon: ‘Don’t tell me we can’t win here. I know it’s possible’

The coach returns to the school that gave him his start with hope of bringing his alma mater the success he’s had elsewhere during his career.
It’s a great story, and one TCU head coach Jamie Dixon recently shared with Derek Jeter’s media site, The Players’ Tribune.Dixon opened his essay with the story of how he came to TCU — it was already after he graduated from high school back in his home of California, no schools offered him a scholarship and he was unsure how he was going to pursue his dream of being around the game of basketball.
“All I needed was an opportunity — a way in. That’s what TCU offered me,” Dixon wrote. “Late in the summer after I graduated, right before school started, TCU offered me a scholarship when nobody else would. They took a chance on me, and I never forgot it.
“And now, it’s time for me to return to where it all started.” …
