
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Ex-Pitt coach Dixon thought he would finish career with Panthers
After more than a decade as the school’s men’s basketball coach there were moments when it felt as if Jamie Dixon would never leave Pitt.
For him, at least at one time, that was the plan.
In a piece published Wednesday on the Players’ Tribune, a website on which athletes and coaches write first-person accounts of their experiences, Dixon wrote that he thought and hoped he was going to end his career with the Panthers.
“I approached every day at Pitt as if I was going to finish my career there — because that was what I thought would happen,†wrote Dixon, nearly a month after he was hired at TCU. “That’s what I hoped would happen. It’s a place that had a tremendous impact on my life, and I feel like the school and I both grew together over time.†…
