SB Nation: Sooners Turning To Freshmen Arms Against Horned Frogs This Weekend

Oklahoma’s recent wave of success has come on the heels of Pete Hughes’ newer players finding a rhythm and making the necessary adjustments to baseball in the Big 12. After being swept at Texas Tech to open up conference play the Sooners have bounced back to win their series against both Texas and Baylor. Now as they face the road one more time Hughes is turning to a pair of freshmen to take charge on the mound.
Ryan Madden will start the series for the Sooners. In twenty innings this season Madden has a 1-2 record with a 3.60 ERA. He’s fanned eleven batters with walking six and allowing a total of nine runs. Madden has made a total of eight appearances this season with two starts. …
