DMN: TCU position series: Two-way race for starting QB job could last until fall

For the next couple weeks, we will be breaking down the TCU roster position by position, including recaps of 2015 and an outlook on the upcoming season. To start our series off, our first position examined will be quarterback.

Position: Quarterback

Key returnees: Foster Sawyer (sophomore)

Key additions: Kenny Hill (junior, redshirt), Brennen Wooten (freshman)

Key losses: Trevone Boykin (graduation), Bram Kolhausen (graduation)

2015 recap: This job belonged to the same man it did in 2014: Trevone Boykin. Boykin took the new TCU offense with new coordinators Sonny Cumbie and Doug Meacham and helped make it the success it was across the two seasons. Boykin threw for 3,575 yards, 31 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2015 before he was suspended for the Alamo Bowl after he was arrested and charged with third-degree assault. Boykin was a success in the new TCU offense because he was able to make plays with his arm and take off when he really needed to run. Walk-on Bram Kolhausen stepped in during the Alamo Bowl and helped the Frogs to victory in his first career start. …
