FWST: TCU aiming to shore up rotation as road trip turns to Wichita State
TCU is trying to think of a way to use Sean Wymer and other bullpen arms to help a rotation that has only one consistent starter, Brian Howard.
“We may have to piece things together, may have to be a little less conventional in some of our starts outside of Howard,†said coach Jim Schlossnagle, whose team opens a three-game series at Wichita State on Friday. “We may have to throw a different guy every three or four innings. Right now, Howard has been the only starting pitcher who’s flat proven his ability to go through a lineup three times.â€
Howard has averaged just over 6 1/3 innings per start. He is coming off an eight-inning performance at Texas and a seven-inning start against West Virginia. …
