Brothers Carson and Cannan race across the TCU campus carrying backpacks that weigh nearly as much as they do, passing college students who tower over them.

Their mother follows close behind with jackets, calculators, snacks and whatever else she thinks her two little geniuses might need.

Carson Huey-You, 13, pops into class, a college junior on track to earn his physics degree before he can even get a driver’s permit. Cannan, 10, curls up on a bench in the hallway, going through his chemistry lesson on the structure of atoms.

Mom and kids are a fixture at Texas Christian University, where Carson became the youngest student ever to attend at age 11. He wowed admissions faculty with his piano skills and ability to speak Mandarin Chinese. …
