The Exponent Telegram: Mountaineers swept by No. 7 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas — The West Virginia baseball team lost the series finale at No. 7 TCU, 14-2, on Sunday afternoon in a seven-inning contest.

In front of 4,190 fans at Lupton Stadium, the Mountaineers (10-7, 0-3 Big 12) were held to two runs on eight hits with two errors. The Horned Frogs (16-3, 3-0) scored 14 runs on 16 hits with no errors.

Freshman designated hitter Marques Inman drove in both WVU runs with a single in the first inning, and fellow freshman Darius Hill had two hits on the day to lead the Mountaineers offensively.

For the 11th time this season, the Mountaineers scored first, with a pair of runs in the opening inning. Sophomore third baseman Kyle Davis led off the contest with a walk, and Hill followed with a double to left field. With two outs, Inman drove both Davis and Hill home with a single up the middle. …
