FWST: TCU’s Megan Smith breaks 23-year-old school record in shot put

Megan Smith of TCU broke the school record in the women’s shot put with a throw of 56-5  3/4 on Friday at the TCU Invitational.
The previously record was 56-4 Â 3/4 set by Stevanie Wadsorth-Ferguson in 1993.
Ronnie Baker won the 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 9.95. That time tops the NCAA Division I West qualifying list.
Brianna McGhee won the 100-meter hurdles with a 13.27, just .03 off of her school record.
Jeremy Wariner finished second in the 200-meter dash with a 21.09. The former Arlington Lamar and Baylor star was beaten by former Baylor standout Marcus Boyd, who ran a 21.01.
Those were the two fastest times of the day in the event.
