The McAllen Monitor: Road-weary UTRGV blasted by TCU in opening round of WNIT

When the UTRGV women’s basketball team took the court Thursday, coach Larry Tidwell saw a group that was tired and run down.
The Vaqueros had spent just one full day in Edinburg since March 4, emblematic of a season in which the team played 22 of its 33 games away from home.
The wear and tear was blatantly obvious on Thursday, as UTRGV was dominated 97-73 at TCU in the first round of the WNIT.
“We’ve been on the road for 15 days,†Tidwell said. “We came home for a day, and we got back on the bus, and our legs just weren’t there.†…
