KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the moment, TCU coach Trent Johnson isn’t fueling speculation about his future.
Going into Wednesday’s Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship first-round game with Texas Tech, Johnson wants the spotlight away from his status for next season.
“My only focus is on my team and tomorrow’s game,” Johnson said Tuesday after practice at the Sprint Center.
At the same time, it’s hard to ignore, despite Johnson’s best efforts. As he is about to end his fourth season, Johnson is 49-78 at TCU. The Horned Frogs have won just eight of 72 Big 12 games under Johnson, including 2-16 this season.  …
