FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 10 seeded TCU will open the 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship versus No. 7 seeded Texas Tech Wednesday night at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Fans not able to attend the contest, which will tip at 8:00 p.m. CT, can follow it live on ESPNU with Jon Sciambi (Play-By-Play) and Miles Simon (Color) calling the action.

Wednesday’s game is also available on the radio airwaves via KTCU, 570 AM KLIF, FrogVision, SiriusXM (93/199) or TuneIn Radio.

The Opponent
Texas Tech, who is receiving votes in both national polls, wrapped-up the regular-season with a 19-11 overall record, including a 9-9 mark in Big 12 Conference play after dropping K-State, 80-71. Against the Wildcats, Keenan Evans and Devaugntah Williams tallied 20 points apiece, respectively.

On Sunday, Tubby Smith was named Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year, while Toddrick Gotcher, Aaron Ross and Zach Smith all earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades.

On the season, Gotcher is averaging 11.2 points per game and 3.7 boards per outing. Williams is also in double-figures, tallying 10.8 points a contest and 3.2 rebounds.

The Series
TCU and Texas Tech will play for the 128th time in program history Wednesday. The Red Raiders lead the all-time series, 78-49, but the Frogs have won six times in the last 16 meetings after sweeping Tech a year ago. The Frogs’ series history against the Red Raiders ranks No. 7 among the lengthiest in the history of the program.

Conference Tournament History Against Texas Tech
TCU and Texas Tech will collide in a conference tournament game for only the seventh time in program history Wednesday. The two Texas schools have battled to a 3-3 draw in the previous six outings. The last time the Horned Frogs and Red Raiders met in post-season came in 1993. TCU’s last victory over Texas Tech in a conference tournament came in an 84-68 victory in 1989.

• TCU has posted a 20-38 record in conference tournament games. The Frogs’ all-time records by conference tournament: Southwest Conference (1976-96: 10-20), WAC (1997-2001: 5-5), Conference USA (2002-05: 2-3), Mountain West (2006-12: 2-7) and Big 12 (2013-present: 1-3).

• TCU has reached the championship game of a conference tournament on two occasions. The first time was in the 1983 SWC Tournament, where it dropped a 62-59 decision to the Houston squad that fell to NC State in the NCAA title game. The Frogs’ last appearance came in the 1997 WAC Tournament, where they fell to a Keith Van Horn-led Utah, 89-68.

• Trent Johnson is 13-15 in conference tournaments. Johnson led Nevada to the 2004 WAC tourney title. His 2003 Wolf Pack squad finished runner-up, as did his Stanford team at the 2008 Pac-10 tournament. Johnson’s all-time records by conference tournament: Big West (Nevada, 2000: 1-1), WAC (Nevada, 2001-04: 6-3), Pac-10 (Stanford, 2005-08: 3-4), SEC (LSU, 2009-12: 2-4) and Big 12 (1-3).

Duo Down The Stretch
Chauncey Collins and Malique Trent have begun to score the ball at a high percentage as of late. In the last four games, the duo has combined to score over 45 percent of TCU’s total points against Texas Tech, Baylor, K-State and Oklahoma. When broken down, Collins and Trent have accounted for 123 of the Purple and White’s 271 total points.

Swipe Access
Malique Trent tallied six steals versus No. 6 Oklahoma, marking now the 11th time this season and third-straight game in which the sophomore has stole the rock three or more times in a game. Trent ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference overall in steals and No. 17 in the NCAA. During league play, the sophomore ranked first overall, averaging 2.47 per contest. With his six steals against the Sooners, Trent posted the most steals in a game since former Frog Greedy Daniels swiped seven at Fresno State in 2001.

Playing Ranked Foes
When TCU takes on Texas Tech Wednesday, the Frogs will battle their 13th opponent either ranked or receiving votes in their last 19 games. TCU has played a total of seven ranked teams in this week’s AP top-25, including three in the top-15.

Collins Stepping Up
Chauncey Collins, who had 17 versus No. 19 Baylor and a career-high 29 at Texas Tech, has begun to make his mark as of late, scoring the basketball from all over the court. The sophomore, who scored in double-figures in 14 out of the 18 league games, which includes games of 20 twice versus West Virginia and 19 against Texas Tech at home, has hit three or more three’s in nine out of the 18 games.

In the 10 games against league foes ranked in the top-25, Collins averaged 14 points per game and 2.6 assists per contest. He also shot 44 percent from behind the arc in the 10 outings.

One Game At A Time
Heading into Wednesday, TCU has only had three players see action in all 31 games this season in Vladimir Brodziansky, JD Miller andBrandon Parrish. When broken down even further, Parrish is the only Frog to have started all 31 games. The junior led the Purple and White with a season-high 20 points versus No. 6 Oklahoma. He also had 19 at Texas Tech in February.
