The Opponent
No. 19 Baylor comes into Saturday’s showdown boasting a 20-8 overall and 9-6 in Big Conference record after falling to No. 2 Kansas in its last outing, 66-60. Against the Jayhawks, Al Freeman carried the load, scoring a team-high 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range. Taurean Prince was also in double-figures, scoring 12 points on only 4-of-13 from the field.

On the season, the Bears, who are 5-4 on the road this season, have been led by Prince. He is averaging 15.0 points per game and 5.6 boards. Rico Gathers has also been solid, averaging 12.0 points per contest and 9.8 rebounds a game.

The Series
TCU and Baylor will be playing for the 179th time in the all-time series Saturday. The Bears own a 97-81 all-time advantage after defeating the Frogs in January. The last time TCU defeated Baylor came in a 72-64 victory in 2002. In all, the Frogs have won four out of the last 12 in the series. The first game in TCU’s program history came against the Bears in 1908, a 37-6 Baylor home-game victory.

Scorching Hot
Chauncey Collins scored a career-high 29 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field at Texas Tech, including 17 in the opening frame. By scoring 29 points, the sophomore posted the most points in a single-game since former all-conference guar Kyan Anderson dropped 29 points against Baylor at home on Feb. 2, 2014. When broken down even further, it was the most points scored in a road contest since Anderson tallied 29 at K-State in 2013.

Offensive Glass Explosion
Since entering the starting lineup against Iowa State, JD Miller has made his presence known, averaging 14.5 points per game and 8.5 boards. He is also shooting 50 percent (12-of-24) from the field. What is even more impressive though is that Miller has totaled 13 boards on the offensive end in the two contests. In the last two outings, Miller is averaging 6.5 offensive boards.

Start Me Up
Freshman JD Miller had quite the outing against No. 13 Iowa State. The Dallas native made his first career start in a Horned Frog uniform. He also recorded his first career double-double, scoring a career-high 19 points, while grabbing 11 rebounds. His 11 rebounds were a career-high against a league foe and the most since corralling 12 at Washington in December. In all, the freshman set career-highs in points, minutes and field goals made.

Malique Trent tallied three steals at No. 13 Iowa State, marking the eighth time this season the sophomore has stole the rock three or more times in a game. Trent ranks No. 3 in the Big 12 Conference overall in steals and No. 51 in the NCAA. During league play, the sophomore is currently tied for second overall, averaging 1.92 per contest.

Playing Ranked Foes
When TCU takes on Baylor Saturday, the Frogs will battle their 11th opponent either ranked or receiving votes in their last 16 games. TCU has played a total of seven ranked teams in this week’s AP top-25, including three in the top-15.

Collins Stepping Up
Chauncey Collins, who had 16 at No. 13 Iowa State and a career-high 29 at Texas Tech, has begun to make his mark as of late, scoring the basketball from all over the court. The sophomore, who has scored in double-figures in 11 out of the 15 league games, which includes games of 20 twice versus West Virginia and 19 against Texas Tech at home, has hit three or more three’s in eight out of the 15 games.

In the eight games against league foes ranked in the top-25, Collins is averaging 13.9 points per game and 2.3 assists per contest. He is also shooting 45 percent from behind the arc in the eight outings.

Parrish Pushing Ahead
In the Horned Frogs’ last three wins over Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas, Brandon Parrish is shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15-of-28), including 53 percent from three (8-of-15). He is averaging 14.7 points per game in the three wins and 3.7 rebounds.

In the 11 overall games won this season, Parrish, who dropped 19 at Tech, is shooting 53 percent from the floor and 52 percent from downtown. In games lost, the junior drops to 36.5 percent from the field and only 37.7 percent from deep.

One Game At A Time
Heading into Saturday, TCU has only had four players see action in all 28 games this season in Vladimir Brodziansky, JD Miller, Brandon Parrish and Michael Williams. When broken down even further, Parrish is the only Frog to have started all 28 games. The junior led the Purple and White with 13 points against Kansas and then 15 versus Oklahoma State. He also had 19 at Tech.
