ESPN: Big 12 roundtable: Baylor, TCU camp storylines
ESPN Staff
In this week’s Big 12 roundtable, we take a deeper look at the first Big 12 two schools to kick off spring drills, Baylor and TCU:
What about TCU?
Trotter: The quarterback derby; most notably, whether Kenny Hill shows he’s matured from his time at Texas A&M. Hill’s college career got off to a booming start with the big season-opening performance at South Carolina two years ago. Hill, however, was not ready for the spotlight. This spring, he gets another chance to prove that this time around he is.
Olson: Everyone will focus on Hill, but I’m definitely curious to see how this offense continues to evolve under Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie this spring. New quarterback, new go-to receivers (besides KaVontae Turpin), new No. 1 running back, three or four new offensive linemen — that’s a lot of change. How will all those pieces come together? How do they adjust now that Trevone Boykin isn’t running the show?
Chatmon: It’s hard not to be excited about the talent TCU is amassing on offense. The Horned Frogs played a bevy of freshman receivers in 2015 — including the dynamic playmaker KaVontae Turpin — and added some top signees that are already on campus in Taj Williams and Isaiah Graham. The battle for playing time at receiver will be fun to watch.
