Wide receiver Josh Doctson had quite a season for TCU, and he’s hoping that will translate into a first-round selection in April’s NFL draft.

Whether he goes in the first or second round could come down to his time in the 40-yard dash, according to ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. in a Monday conference call.

“His 40 time’s going to be important. If he runs a real good 40, he’s a [first-rounder],” Kiper said. “If he doesn’t, he’s probably an early-to-mid [second round].”

Kiper was later asked about Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin’s prospects. He highly doubted Boykin would stay at that position if he came off the board.

“I think he’s a wide receiver, and that’s the position they’ll move him to,” Kiper said.
