The Red Raiders, who have won four-straight, were carried by Toddrick Gotcher’s 24-point outing against the Cowboys. Aaron Ross was also in double-figures, tallying 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Series
TCU and Texas Tech will play for the 127th time in program history Tuesday. The Red Raiders lead the all-time series, 77-49, but the Frogs have won six times in the last 15 meetings after sweeping Tech a year ago. The Frogs’ series history against the Red Raiders ranks No. 7 among the lengthiest in the history of the program.

Start Me Up
Freshman JD Miller had quite the outing against No. 13 Iowa State. The Dallas native made his first career start in a Horned Frog uniform. He also recorded his first career double-double, scoring a career-high 19 points, while grabbing 11 rebounds. His 11 rebounds were a career-high against a league foe and the most since corralling 12 at Washington in December. In all, the freshman set career-highs in points, minutes and field goals made.

Malique Trent tallied three steals at No. 13 Iowa State, marking the eighth time this season the sophomore has stole the rock three or more times in a game. Trent ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference overall in steals and No. 44 in the NCAA. During league play, the sophomore is currently tied for first overall, averaging 2.0 per contest.

Playing Ranked Foes
When TCU takes on Texas Tech Tuesday, the Frogs will battle their 10th opponent either ranked or receiving votes in their last 15 games. TCU has played a total of seven ranked teams in last week’s AP top-25, including four in the top-15.

News And Notes Against Tech
TCU head coach Trent Johnson has faced Texas Tech nine times in his career. Johnson has captured three victories over the Red Raiders throughout his tenure, including the Horned Frogs’ first sweep a year ago over a conference counterpart since joining the Big 12. In the two games last season, the Frogs held Texas Tech to below 60 points in each contest, while shooting a combined 45 percent in the two outings.

Comparing The Two
A trend has become apparent in TCU’s 27 games this season. In the 11 wins, the Horned Frogs have averaged 19.0 points off turnovers. In the 16 losses, TCU is only averaging 13.7 points off turnovers. In comparison, the Frogs have held the opposition to only 10.7 points in wins versus 18.4 in losses.

Parrish Pushing Ahead
Brandon Parrish led TCU in scoring against Kansas and Oklahoma State. In those two outings, the junior averaged 14 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field. In the Horned Frogs’ last three wins over Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas, Parrish is shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15-of-28), including 53 percent from three (8-of-15). He is averaging 14.7 points per game in the three wins and 3.7 rebounds.

In the 11 overall games won this season, Parrish is shooting 53 percent from the floor and 52 percent from downtown. In games lost, the junior drops to 34.2 percent from the field and only 34 percent from deep.

He’s Heating Up
Chauncey Collins, who has 16 at No. 13 Iowa State, has begun to make his mark as of late, scoring the basketball from all over the court. The sophomore, who has scored in double-figures in 10 out of the 14 league games, which includes games of 20 twice versus West Virginia and 19 against Texas Tech, has hit three or more three’s in seven out of the 14 games.

In the eight games against league foes ranked in the top-25, Collins is averaging 13.9 points per game and 2.3 assists per contest. He is also shooting 45 percent from behind the arc in the eight outings.

Guarding The Rock
TCU is 8-2 this season when holding its opponent to under 40 percent from the field with its only losses coming at West Virginia and to K-State at home. The Horned Frogs limited Tennessee to only 33.3 percent from the floor, including only (8-of-31) 25.8 percent from behind the arc. By defeating Oklahoma State at home, the Frogs also held their sixth opponent this season to 59 points or less.

In the last two season’s against league foes, TCU has now held seven conference opponents to under 60 points. The Frogs’ only loss during the seven games came in a 58-53 setback at K-State last January.

One Game At A Time
Heading into Tuesday, TCU has only had four players see action in all 27 games this season in Vladimir Brodziansky, JD Miller, Brandon Parrish and Michael Williams. When broken down even further, Parrish is the only Frog to have started all 27 games. The junior led the Purple and White with 13 points against Kansas and then 15 versus Oklahoma State.
