Barrett Finishes 2nd at Wyoming Event
PALM DESERT, Calif. — TCU finished in fourth place while junior Chelso Barrett closed out play with a 69 to place second on the individual leaderboard at the eighth-annual Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate presented by Cleveland Golf, at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
Barrett, a Keene, New Hampshire native, finished five-under par for the tournament, shooting a pair of sub-70 rounds in the process. It is the second time in three tournaments that Barrett has finished in the top two on the individual leaderboard after taking second at the Connecticut Cup to end the fall campaign as part of TCU’s team championship at the event.
The Frogs finished fourth overall thanks to Barrett and senior Sarosh Adi’s top 10 finishes. Adi finished eighth in the tournament after his final round score of 75 knocked him down the leaderboard after placing in the top three for much of the tournament. Adi’s opening round score of 67 was TCU’s best of the week.
In addition to the team scores for the Frogs, junior Giulio Castagnara participated as an individual and finished in a tie for 9th overall, including a final round score of 69.
TCU returns to action on March 7-9 at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters.
