Frogs in 4th Heading to Final Day
PALM DESERT, Calif. — TCU is in fourth place and senior Sarosh Adi is in second place overall following the second round of the eighth-annual Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate presented by Cleveland Golf, at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
TCU shot its second consecutive sub-300 round to open the tournament and stand at +7 overall for the event and just three strokes back of second place.
After shooting an opening round 67, Adi shot a 73 on day to, the top score by a TCU players on the day alongside newcomer and freshman Stefano Mazzoli, who improved on his opening round score by five strokes. Barrett followed his opening round 68 with a 74 and is in a tie for 6th place in the event.
Adi is 2-under par on par 3’s on the week to pace the field. Adi carded two birdies on Saturday.
Gonzaga’s Sean Walsh leads the event at -5 through 36 holes and is just one stroke ahead of Adi on the overall leaderboard.
The event, hosted by Wyoming, includes 20 teams and 15 individuals at the three-day event. All three days will consist of 18 holes that will begin at 8:30 a.m. MT. The 2016 Desert Intercollegiate field includes Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech, Gonzaga, Colorado, Old Dominion, Cal Poly, Idaho, Oral Roberts University, South Dakota State, UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, UT-Arlington, Arkansas-Little Rock, Denver and Southern Illinois.
