DMN: A former TCU player could be a tenth of a second away from his NFL dream dying

This is the first in an occasional series that will follow a player’s journey through the NFL draft process.
Derrick Kindred was frothing to begin his senior season as a TCU Horned Frog on the final Sunday of August, when he dived for a loose ball at an otherwise benign practice four days shy of the opening game at Minnesota.
Kindred is a little foggy about what happened next, but he distinctly remembers hearing what he believed was a bone-crunching crack.
Chad Glasgow, TCU’s co-defensive coordinator and Kindred’s position coach, had a better view and has a clearer recall of what left his star safety writhing on the field.
The coach recalls watching trainers charging onto the field to examine the injury suffered by the player everyone in the program refers to as “Peanut.” They reported that TCU’s defensive captain appeared to have fractured his left clavicle.
