FWST: TCU ex Aaron Green hopes Senior Bowl play is worth NFL Combine invite

MOBILE, Ala. – TCU running back Aaron Green certainly wasn’t the most intriguing prospect at the Senior Bowl. That distinction belonged to North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, or possibly Eastern Kentucky defensive end Noah Spence.

But Green had a solid showing on Saturday afternoon, and is hopeful that can boost his stock. Green scored the game’s first points on a nifty 25-yard touchdown run, starting between the tackles before finding room to run on the outside.

“It was just a one-back power, so I was just being patient and letting my eyes do all the work,” Green said. “I saw the guard pull, saw him get that block, so I cut inside of him and after that I just let Aaron Green be Aaron Green, and do what I had to do to get in the end zone.”

That proved to be his highlight play, finishing with 36 rushing yards on five carries. He also had a catch for minus-2 yards. …
