Recruiting 2017: Edward Ingram, Desoto, OL

The fax machine from National Signing Day is not even unplugged and returned to the closet, yet the TCU 2017 class is already taking shape.  With an anticipated class of 13-15, 2017 will be small and selective.  So when 325 pound Guard Edward Ingram of DeSoto received an offer from TCU last week, he knew he was in elite company.

Currently ranked as a 4 Star Guard by Scout, TCU is not the only school hustling to land Ingram.  He holds offers from Oklahoma State, Baylor, Oklahoma and LSU, just to name a few.  The DeSoto linemen is one of the top targets in the trenches for teams that TCU consistently battles for top talent.  Competition will be tight to secure his signature a year from now.  What will it take for Ingram to join the select 2017 class?

“I’m looking for a good connection with the coaches and a great educational program.  I’m very impressed with the program at TCU,” Ingram said in an interview with KillerFrogs this weekend.

Zarnell Fitch, the newest addition to the TCU coaching staff, is the staff member in primary contact with him Ingram reports.  Frog fans should feel confident that Fitch, a former high school football coach in Dallas ISD, is working to build a strong connection with the DeSoto prep.

Ingram carries a confidence on the field that will remind Frog fans of Davion Pierson.  When asked what KillerFrog readers could expect if he landed at TCU Ingram replied, “I would be the most dominate lineman on the field.”  That comment carried confidence without sounding cocky.  How do you not want him on the field for the good guys?
