Daily Oklahoman: Oklahoma begins Big 12 championship hunt
By Brooke Pryor Staff Writer bpryor@oklahoman.com
NORMAN — Through four weeks of the 2016 season, at least one goal has already been eliminated for the Oklahoma football team.
At this point, the 1-2 Sooners aren’t making it to the College Football Playoffs, and the goal of a national title is pretty far-fetched.
But that doesn’t mean the season is worthless, not by a long shot.
Obviously winning a national championship is the ultimate goal for any Oklahoma team, but wide receiver Mark Andrews said the Sooners’ first priority has always been to win a Big 12 title. OU’s conference slate begins with a trip to Fort Worth this weekend, and the climb to achieving the primary goal of the season starts now.
