TCU, the state’s top-ranked college football team in the preseason rankings, fell out of Sunday’s weekly polls after Saturday night’s 41-38 loss to Arkansas in Amon G. Carter Stadium.

TCU was unranked by voters in The Associated Press poll and the coaches poll for the first time this season. Last week, TCU was No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 12 in the coaches rankings.

The Horned Frogs (1-1) began the season at No. 13 in the AP’s preseason poll but have dropped in two consecutive polls after allowing a combined 82 points in the first two weeks of the season. TCU opens Big 12 play Saturday against Iowa State (0-2) in Fort Worth with a chance to rebound from Saturday’s double-overtime loss to the Razorbacks, which followed a 59-41 victory over South Dakota State, an FCS opponent, to begin the season.
