247 Sports: Longhorns still feeling sting of embarrassing loss to TCU
The Texas Longhorns have suffered 14 losses in two seasons under Charlie Strong, some more painful to deal with than others.
When thinking about the toughest loss he experienced during the 2015 season, sophomore linebacker Malik Jefferson was quick to mention one in particular. It was a 50-7 loss to TCU on Oct. 3, a game where the Longhorns trailed 30-0 at the end of the first quarter en route to the most one-sided loss of the Strong era.
“We folded,†Jefferson said on Tuesday following practice.
Texas gave up a season-high 376 passing yards and allowed 604 total yards, the second-highest opponent output of the year. The offense’s first five drives of the game saw the Longhorns tally one yard of total offense on 18 plays with a fumble and a safety (punt blocked out of the end zone) capping two of those series.
