Cleburne Times-Review: Godley’s Hickey discusses transfer from K-State to TCU

By A.J. Crisp

Godley’s Blake Hickey is trading in his Kansas State University purple and silver for the purple and white of Texas Christian University.

When he verbally committed to Kansas State in July 2015, Hickey held 17 offers from Division I programs. Although he received interest from TCU throughout his recruiting process, Coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs never extended an offer to the 6-foot-4, 285-pound versatile offensive lineman.

On Thursday, Hickey posted the following on his Twitter account: “I would like to thank everyone at Kansas State for giving me a great opportunity to live my dream. I couldn’t say thank you enough for the opportunity. With that being said, I will not be attending Kansas State this fall. I wish them nothing but the best. It took me some time to figure this out but I will be heading to Fort Worth to attend TCU. I’m extremely excited to get up there and get to work. Go Frogs!”
