GoFrogs: Parrish Helps Wildlife In South Africa

FORT WORTH, Texas – Brandon Parrish provided aid to some of the wildlife this week while at his study abroad in South Africa.

Parrish is currently in South Africa with 10 other TCU students, focusing on rhinos, conservation and biodiversity. Most recently, Parrish helped dehorn five white rhinos in an effort to protect them from poachers. Parrish also replaced a GPS collar on a matriarch elephant at the Amakhala Game Reserve. The data from the collar is being used by Grahamstown University graduate students for their thesis research.

Parrish also made connections at the Isipho HIV/AIDS Project in Paterson. There, he took part in the children’s outdoor exercise, teaching them his jump shot and participating in some soccer.
