San Angelo Standard-Times: TCU’s Patterson talks about his Frog philosophy

When you consider all the obstacles his team overcame and the slew of injuries the Horned Frogs endured, one could easily make the argument that TCU head football coach Gary Patterson was better than ever last season.

And that’s saying a lot.

TCU rallied for a 31-point comeback in a 47-41 triple-overtime nail-biter over Oregon in the 2016 Valero Alamo Bowl to finish the year at 11-2. The Frogs finished seventh in the final AP poll for their fifth top-10 showing in the last eight years. They’ve won 11 games eight of the last 11 years under Patterson.

The wild bowl win over Oregon wasn’t the only down-to-the-wire victory for TCU last year.
