GoFrogs: Barjon, Barrett Complete Final Round
EUGENE, Oregon – TCU men’s golfers Paul Barjon and Chelso Barrett wrapped up play at the NCAA Championships on Monday at the Eugene Country Club as Barrett climbed the leaderboard, but Barjon slipped back.
On a windy day in which the scores were high, Barrett shot an outstanding 1-over 71 and climbed into a tie for 13th place at 4-over par for the tournament. The junior birdied No. 15 and No. 16 and pared the final two holes to close strong.
Barjon shot an 8-over 78 on Sunday to close the tournament at 6-over par and in a tie for 22nd place. The senior entered the tournament as the 40th-ranked player in the nation and was named a PING Division I All-Region selection on Sunday.
The two competed as individuals just a day after a young TCU squad missed the team cut by just one stroke in a scorecard tiebreaker. The Frogs entered the tournament as the 44th-ranked team in the nation, but will surely that number climb after such a strong showing in Eugene.
