FORT WORTH – TCU rallied from a 2-0 deficit to post a thrilling 3-2 victory over Kansas State in game one of the series Thursday night at Lupton Stadium. The win is TCU’s third straight.

The Rundown
Sean Wymer’s (2-0) masterful performance out of the bullpen helped lead the Horned Frogs to their come-from-behind victory. He entered the contest with the game tied at two and retired all 12 batters he faced, while racking up a career-high six strikeouts.

Kansas State opened up a 2-0 lead heading to the bottom of the fourth. The Wildcats pushed across a two-out run in each of the third and fourth innings to take the early lead.

TCU responded with a pair of two-out runs of its own in the bottom of the fourth. Luken Baker singled with one out. Josh Watson’s two-out double had the tying runs in scoring position. Dane Steinhagen delivered a two-run single through the left side to tie the game at two.

Wymer held K-State in check and the Frogs completed their comeback in the bottom of the seventh. Steinhagen led off the inning with a base hit and moved to third on a pinch-hit single from Austen Wade. Mason Hesse dropped down a perfect safety squeeze and the throw to the plate was late as Steinhagen slid in safely with the eventual game-winner.

Durbin Feltman pitched around a lead-off single in the ninth to record his fifth save of the season.
