FWST: TCU baseball pulls away from Penn State in last two innings

STATE COLLEGE, PA. – TCU broke a 5-5 tie with four runs over the final two innings to beat Penn State 9-5 for a sweep of the nonconference baseball series Sunday.

The Horned Frogs (33-12) had 19 hits. Elliott Barzilli had four hits and knocked in two runs. Cam Warner and Evan Skoug each had three hits, and Josh Watson hit his 10th home run.

With the score tied 5-5 in the eighth, Ryan Merrill doubled, moved to third on an infield single by Warner and scored on an error.

The Frogs scored three runs in the ninth. Luken Baker and Watson singled. Barzilli’s single, Dane Steinhagen’s double and Merrill’s single brought in the runs.
