Final Stats

STILLWATER – Josh Watson homered as part of a three-hit afternoon and drove in four as TCU evened the series with Oklahoma State Saturday with an 11-6 win.

The Rundown
TCU loaded the bases in the first on two walks and a hit with nobody out. Luken Bakergrounded into a double play, but on the play, Austen Wade scored to give TCU a 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma State stormed back to take the lead in the in the third. With two on and one out, Donnie Walton doubled to deep center to put the Pokes up 2-1.

The Frogs weren’t down long as they put together a little two-out magic to regain a lead they would never relinquish in the fourth. Watson’s eighth home run of the season tied the game at two. Connor Wanhanen was hit by a pitch and stole second. He scored easily on a Dane Steinhagen base hit to give TCU a 3-2 lead.

Two more runs crossed the plate in the fifth as TCU stretched its lead to three, 5-2. Baker drove in Wade for the first of his two RBIs on the day. A wild pitch allowed Skoug to score.

Watson’s strong day at the plate continued in the seventh as he singled home two more runs for a 7-2 lead.

Four runs on six hits in the eighth broke the game open as TCU batted around. RBI singles from Baker and Watson around a bases-loaded walk to Elliott Barzilli pushed the lead to eight, 10-2. Wanhanen’s sacrifice fly capped TCU’s scoring.

Oklahoma State made noise in the last two frames, scoring a quartet of two-out runs, but Guillory’s fourth strikeout ended the game.

Dalton Horton improved to 7-0 on the season after allowing just two runs on five hits in six innings of work.
