GoFrogs: Four Earn Academic All-Big 12

FORT WORTH, Texas – Four members of the TCU men’s and women’s tennis teams were honored by the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday afternoon by being named to the 2016 Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams.

Junior Hudson Blake and sophomore Aleksandra Zenovka were the lone First Team selections, while sophomores Cameron Norrie andAlexis Pereira were named to the Second Team.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

The TCU men’s tennis team will wrap-up the regular season by facing No.43 Baylor tonight at 5:30 p.m., at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center with a win over the Bears clinching at least a share of the Big 12 title for the first time in program history for the Horned Frogs. The team will then head to Lubbock, Texas to square off with Texas Tech on Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m. The TCU women’s tennis team will finish up on the road by traveling to Morgantown, W.Va. to face West Virginia on Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m., before heading to Ames, Iowa to face Iowa State on Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m.
