FORT WORTH – The No. 5 TCU Horned Frogs return to Big 12 play this weekend when they head to Kansas for a three game series. The series will wrap up a stretch of games that has seen them play 10 of 11 contests away from home.

TCU NOTABLES
• TCU saw its five game winning streak come to an end in a 4-3 loss to UTA on Wednesday.
• The NCAA released its first RPI report and TCU comes in at No. 15.
• TCU enters the ranked in the top 10 of all the major polls.
• Cam Warner hit his third home run of the season Wednesday and now owns a 17-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the Big 12.
• Dane Steinhagen homered in back-to-back games over the weekend to give him four on the season.
• TCU continues to pace the league offensively with a .311 batting average (23rd nationally), a .408 on-base percentage (18th nationally) and a .487 slugging percentage (16th nationally).
• Elliott Barzilli tops the Big 12 with a .452 average and ranks sixth nationally.
• Barzilli owns a 13-game hitting streak.
• TCU has four hitters in the top 10 in RBIs in the Big 12, led by Luken Baker’s 31.

KANSAS NOTABLES
• Kansas split a pair of game this week, taking a 6-1 victory over Baker University on Tuesday before dropping an 18-11 game at #16 Missouri State.
• The Jayhawks are 4-3 in their last seven after snapping a season-long five game losing streak.
• Michael Tinsley paces the offense with a .340 average and 19 RBIs. He ranks 21st nationally in toughest to strikeout.
• As a team, Kansas ranks 6th in batting average at .271. Its seven home runs are the fewest in the league.
• On the mound, Kansas is at the bottom in ERA at 5.15, but has issued just the third fewest walks among Big 12 schools.
• Ben Krauth is the ace of the staff, ranking eighth in the Big 12 with his 2.20 ERA. His 53 strikeouts are tops in the league as are his 49 innings pitched.
• Stephen Villines ranks second in the Big 12 with four saves.

SERIES HISTORY
• TCU and Kansas are meeting on the diamond for the 16th time in school history.
• TCU leads the series by a slim 8-6 margin after winning both games in Fort Worth a year ago.
• TCU and Kansas opened the 2011 season with a series at Lupton Stadium.
• Kansas won the first Big 12 series played in Fort Worth in 2013.
• TCU is 2-1 against Kansas in Lawrence. The Frogs lone visit to Hoglund Park was in 2014.

RUNS GALORE
TCU enters the week ranked 13th nationally in scoring, averaging 8.3 runs per game.

Runs have come in bunches for the Horned Frogs this season. TCU has scored at least one run in 90 innings this season. In 54 innings, TCU has pushed across at least two runs. In 25 of those innings, TCU has scored four or more runs.

TCU’s most prolific run-scoring innings are the 3rd through 6th innings. The Horned Frogs have scored 135 of their 233 runs in the middle four innings.

TEARING IT UP
Elliott Barzilli has had a torrid first half of the campaign, ranking sixth nationally with his .452 batting average.

The junior enters the week carrying a 13 game hitting streak. During the streak, Barzilli is hitting .488 with eight multi-hit games and five multiple-RBI contests.

This season, Barzilli has hit safely in 26 of 28 games. He leads the team and the Big 12 with 16 multi-hit games and 11 multiple-RBI games.

WALK THIS WAY
Over the last four games, TCU hitters worked 24 walks, improving its season total to 147. The Horned Frogs rank second in the Big 12, just six behind league-leading Texas Tech. That mark also sits 24th nationally.

Despite only having a plate appearance in 24 of the 28 games played this season, Austen Wade leads the team with 22 walks. He has worked two or more walks in seven games this season. Luken Baker is the only other Horned Frogs to have 20 walks on the season. Seven Frogs have 10 or more walks.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN
TCU is on the road for the third straight weekend. After having just four games away from home through the first five weeks of the season, the Frogs have made up for it with three straight weekends on the road.

The Frogs are in the midst of a stretch that sees them play 10 of 11 games away from home. TCU is 5-3 in that stretch.

Offensively, TCU is hitting .288 with 32 extra base hits. Elliott Barzilli leads the way with a .464 average.

On the mound, the staff has a 3.47 ERA and is holding opponents to a .253 average. Jared Janczak has two of the five wins.

STREAKING
Cam Warner enters Friday’s game with a 17-game hitting streak. The junior has started the last 17 games at second base and has collected a base hit in every contest. Over the course of the hitting streak, Warner has raised his average 45 points. He’s hitting .329 (24-for-73) during the streak.

On the season, Warner has collected eight multi-hit games and seven multiple-RBI contests. He’s hit safely in 24 of 27 games played.

LEAVING THE PARK
Last season, TCU hit 27 home runs during the season. The Frogs homered in just 18 of the team’s 66 games.

The long ball has come back into play for the Horned Frogs this season, who have 24 home runs through 28 games. TCU has hit a home run in 19 games this year. The Frogs have already surpassed the home run totals from 2013 (13) and 2014 (14).

Sixteen of the team’s 24 home runs have come with men on base.

Six Horned Frogs have contributed at least two home runs this season. Josh Watson is bidding to be the second freshmen in a row to lead the team in home runs. He has six this season, ranking third in the Big 12.

EARNING HIS STRIPES
Jared Janczak redshirted last season in his first year with the program. The year-long hiatus from game action has paid dividends for Janczak, who leads the team with 12 appearances.

He’s made the most of the opportunities, posting a 4-1 record in those 12 appearances. In 24 2/3 innings pitched, Janczak has 28 strikeouts. He has held opponents scoreless in eight of those appearances. Additionally, he has allowed just one of his eight inherited runners to score.
