The Opponent
West Virginia comes into Saturday’s showdown with a 19-5 overall record, including an 8-3 mark in league play after falling to Kansas in its last outing, 75-65. Against the Jayhawks, Jaysean Paige and Devin Williams both tallied 14 points apiece, respectively. Tarik Phillip was also in double-figures, scoring 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field.

On the season, WVU, who is 10-1 at home, has been carried by Paige and Williams. Paige is averaging 14.2 points per game and shooting 49 percent from the field. Williams is averaging 13.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest.

The Series
West Virginia and TCU will battle for only the eighth time in program history Saturday. WVU leads the all-time series at 7-0 after dropping the Frogs in January, 95-87. A year ago, TCU dropped an 86-85 overtime setback in Morgantown.

Parrish Pushing Ahead
Brandon Parrish has led TCU in scoring the last two games against Kansas and Oklahoma State. In those two outings, the junior is averaging 14 points per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field.

In the Horned Frogs’ last three wins over Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas, Parrish is shooting 53.6 percent from the field (15-of-28), including 53 percent from three (8-of-15). He is averaging 14.7 points per game in the three wins and 3.7 rebounds.

In the 11 overall games won this season, Parrish is shooting 53 percent from the floor and 52 percent from downtown. In games lost, the junior drops to 38 percent from the field and only 35 percent from deep.

The Comeback Kids – Act Two
Just like it did against Tennessee, TCU erased another halftime deficit to defeat Oklahoma State Monday night. The Horned Frogs came out of halftime on fire, connecting on nine of their first 10 shot attempts in the period. When it was all said and done, TCU shot a blistering 65.2 percent from the field in the half, including 66.7 percent from behind the arc following intermission.

In their last two victories over the Volunteers and Cowboys, the Purple and White have shot over 60 percent from the field in the second half and over 50 percent from three in the period.

A Dynamic Duo
Against Kansas last Saturday afternoon, freshman JD Miller and junior Brandon Parrish combined to score 17 of TCU’s 18 points to open the second half. For the game, the duo totaled 26 of the Horned Frogs’ 56 total points, which equals 46.4 percent.

One Game At A Time
Heading into Saturday, TCU has only had four players see action in all 24 games this season in Vladimir Brodziansky, JD Miller, Brandon Parrish and Michael Williams. When broken down even further, Parrish is the only Frog to have started all 24 games. The junior led the Purple and White with 13 points against Kansas and then 15 versus Oklahoma State.

Tough At Home In League Play
Dating back to last season, TCU has won five out of its last 10 Big 12 Conference home games, having defeated Texas, Texas Tech, K-State and Oklahoma State twice. The only losses during that stretch came to No. 17 Iowa State in the regular-season home finale a year ago, versus No. 17 West Virginia, No. 7 Kansas, No. 19 Iowa State and Texas Tech last month. In the five victories, the Horned Frogs have held all five under 60 points for the game.

He’s Heating Up
Chauncey Collins has begun to make his mark as of late, scoring the basketball from all over the court. The sophomore, who has scored in double-figures in eight out of the 11 league games, which includes games of 20 versus West Virginia and 19 against Texas Tech, has hit three or more three’s in five out of the 11 games.

In the six games against league foes ranked in the top-25, Collins is averaging 12.5 points per game and 2.7 assists per contest. He is also shooting 44 percent from behind the arc in the six outings.

Guarding The Rock
TCU is a perfect 8-0 this season when holding its opponent to under 40 percent from the field. The Horned Frogs limited Tennessee to only 33.3 percent from the floor, including only (8-of-31) 25.8 percent from behind the arc. By defeating Oklahoma State at home, the Frogs also held their sixth opponent this season to 59 points or less.

In the last two season’s against league foes, TCU has now held seven conference opponents to under 60 points. The Frogs’ only loss during the seven games came in a 58-53 setback at K-State last January.
