GoFrogs: 8-Year-Old Set to Sign with TCU Swimming & Diving

SwimSwam: 8-Year-Old Set to Sign with TCU Swimming & Diving

The TCU swimming & diving program will sign Nathan Lin to a National Letter of Intent to become an honorary member of the team on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the University Recreation Center one day after his eighth birthday.

Nathan, the son of former TCU swimmer Cathy Lin, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July 2015 and had surgery to remove the tumor a week later. He spent one week in the hospital for the surgery. Nathan then underwent six weeks of radiation beginning in September before starting bimonthly chemo treatments in October. Nathan is tolerating his ongoing chemo very well and currently goes to school for half days, his mother said.

Nathan has been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation during his treatment at Cook Children’s Hospital in Ft. Worth and went to Orlando to visit Disney World and Universal Studios with his family last year.

In the fall, Nathan met Trevone Boykin, Josh Doctson, the football team and the basketball team.

Now, TCU will make another special moment happen for Nathan as he will officially become a part of the Horned Frog family on Wednesday.

Nathan will be accompanied by his parents Jeff and Cathy Lin, along with head coach Richard Sybesma and the TCU swimming and diving team.
