TCU’s Baker Remains on Bowerman Watch List

Ronnie Baker remained on The Bowerman Watch List, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Thursday.

The Bowerman is awarded each year to the top male and female collegiate athlete in NCAA track & field. It is the highest individual honor in the sport.

The senior sprinter was featured in the Preseason Watch List released last month and held his spot in February’s edition.

The defending NCAA 60-meter champion has had a productive start to the 2016 season, earning one of the nation’s top times in the 200 meter and 60-meter dashes. Last week, Baker logged a personal-best time of 20.60 in the 200-meter dash, marking the second fastest time in TCU history and trailing only former World Champion Kim Collins (20.52, 2000).

Baker also recorded his best 60-meter time of the season at the New Mexico Team Invitational after finishing in 6.58 seconds.

Baker’s currently holds the No. 2 (200 meter) and No. 4 (60 meter) times in the NCAA this season.
